Overview

Mid-Fairfield Community Care Center (Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County (dba Mid-Fairfield Community Care Center)) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit mfccc.org, contact us, request services, or support our mission.

This policy was last updated September 30, 2026. It should be read together with our Donor Privacy Policy for giving-specific practices.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details you provide (name, email, phone, address) through forms, email, or phone
  • Clinical and health information when you become a client — protected under HIPAA and applicable Connecticut law (see below)
  • Donation and supporter information when you give or sign up for updates
  • Website usage data through cookies and similar technologies (see Digital Marketing & Website Data)
  • Communications you send us (messages, referrals, volunteer inquiries)

How We Use Your Information

We use information to provide and coordinate mental health services, respond to inquiries, process donations, improve our website, measure outreach efforts, and meet legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Digital Marketing & Website Data

We use digital marketing and analytics on our public website to understand how visitors find and use mfccc.org, improve content, and support fundraising. This includes Google Analytics (measurement ID G-CBE0ZRC7XN), Google Ads conversion tags, and Feathr measurement tools. These services load when you visit our site and may set cookies or similar identifiers — collecting information such as pages viewed, general location, browser type, and referral source.

When you donate online or submit a form (newsletter, referral, volunteer interest, and similar), the information you enter is processed through secure services we use to complete your request and deliver it to our team.

Optional features such as language translation or listen-to-page audio may process text from the page when you choose to use them.

  • You can accept or opt out of analytics and marketing cookies using the banner at the bottom of the site
  • You can also limit tracking through your browser’s cookie controls or private browsing mode
  • Blocking cookies in your browser may affect site features but does not prevent you from reading public content
  • Website analytics and marketing data are separate from clinical records — we do not use public-site tools to track protected health information from treatment

Cookies & Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. When you accept cookies on our site, we load analytics and marketing tools (Google Analytics, Google Ads tags, and Feathr) to help us measure outreach. If you opt out, those tools are not loaded on future visits.

We use cookies and similar technologies as follows:

  • Essential: basic site operation and remembering your cookie preference (stored in your browser’s local storage)
  • Functional: preferences such as language translation or listen settings, where you use those features
  • Analytics & marketing: to measure visits, navigation, and the effectiveness of our outreach

Your choices

  • Choose Accept or Opt out on our cookie banner — your choice is saved in your browser
  • Use browser settings to block or delete cookies and limit third-party tracking
  • Do Not Track: our site does not currently respond to DNT signals; you may still use browser controls

Confidentiality of Health Information

Clinical records and health information are protected under HIPAA and applicable Connecticut state law. Treatment information is maintained under separate clinical privacy and security practices and is not sold for marketing.

For a full summary of your rights as a client — including confidentiality, access to records, and how to raise concerns — see our Client Rights & Responsibilities page at mfccc.org/client-rights.

If you are a client or caregiver with questions about health information, contact us at the number on your appointment materials or our main line.

Children’s Privacy

Our public website is intended for a general audience, including parents and caregivers seeking services for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through website forms without parental involvement. If you believe a child has submitted information to us online in error, contact us so we can delete it.

Security & Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards for information we maintain. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

We retain information as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, clinical, and fundraising record-keeping requirements.

Your Rights & Requests

Depending on your relationship with us, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain information, or to opt out of marketing communications.

To ask questions, update preferences, or request information about this policy, contact info@mfcgc.org or call (203) 299-1315.
